The Chakra System

The Chakra system originated in India during 1500–500 B.C. and was documented in one of the oldest religious texts called the Vedas; the Indonesian culture passed down this information orally throughout generations. This oral knowledge was eventually captured and expounded on to bring this knowledge into the western nations. Let’s first introduce a standard definition of the Chakra.: “A chakra (pronounced “cha”-“kra” with a resounding “ch”) is a center of energy. Originating from Sanskrit, it literally means “wheel” by association with its function as a vortex of spinning energy interacting with various physiological and neurological systems in the body. Chakras are energy centers within the human body that help to regulate all its processes, from organ function to the immune system and emotions. We can commonly count 7 chakras positioned throughout your body, from the base of your spine to the crown of your head. Each chakra has its own vibrational frequency, that is depicted through a specific chakra color, and governs specific functions that help make you, well, human.” (Chakras.info, 2021).

Several different ideologies of the chakra system are established, however, most of the ideas and practices, support the seven major chakra system. The basic definition can be a bit confusing, and appear to align with the mystical primarily, however, each identified chakra is a multilevel region or area. My experience…
