The Problem with the Spherical Earth Model

We have all seen the beautiful color pictures of our earth as it looks from space, the big spinning sphere in the vacuum of space, the place we all call home. This is the belief that we all have, that we are residing on a spinning ball, in a vast universe that exists among billions of other solar systems, galaxies and stars. We have all been taught from a very young age that this is the order of things and it all seems validated by agencies such as the National Space and Aeronautics Agency (NASA). Why wouldn’t we believe this? After all, isn’t there plenty of evidence that supports this model? We have watched the space program develop, through the eyes of the media, from the first primitive trip to the moon, to the shuttle program, the international space station, the Hubble telescope, the deep space satellites, the rover on Mars, and the list could go on for a very long time. We have seen the pictures of our home that were taken on our moon trips, doesn’t this prove that we are living on a globe? Unfortunately, there are probably only a few people on this earth that can know for sure if what we are being taught and shown is really the truth. Our human nature tends to direct us to follow the crowd and believe what everyone else accepts without really doing our own investigation. However, human nature is also engrained with the quest for knowledge and learning. I propose that we challenge this…
